MySunrise launches UK-wide on World Cancer Day, supporting the ambitions of the new NHS Cancer Plan.

As the world marks World Cancer Day today we’re proud to announce we are opening up the MySunrise platform to everyone in the UK— free, on web and mobile — so everyone going through cancer treatment can benefit from our cancer support tool. This national rollout comes as the UK Government publishes the National Cancer Plan for England, which commits to three in four people diagnosed from 2035 being cancer‑free or living well five years after diagnosis, and to meeting all cancer waiting‑time standards by 2029.

For the first time, anyone affected by cancer across the UK can access MySunrise for free, wherever they live. This national rollout strengthens our efforts to better support cancer patients through treatment, helping to reduce inequalities, and ensure consistent access to trusted cancer information in multiple languages. NHS Trusts and ICBs are still able to take advantage of upgrading to the locally configured version of MySunrise, which is integrated into local pathways and designed around cancer services.

How MySunrise offers support...

1) Tackling inequalities and postcode variation

MySunrise focuses on reducing unfair differences in outcomes by:

• Reducing inequalities through multi language support, subtitled video content, and easy access for people in underserved communities.

• Tackling postcode variation by providing a consistent national foundation of trusted cancer information, while enabling Trusts to tailor local content—helping patients move smoothly from hospital care into community support.

2) Earlier, faster diagnosis and treatment

MySunrise complements national ambitions to speed up diagnosis and treatment by:

• Enhancing literacy and personalised support, helping people understand tests, investigations, treatments and timelines, so they feel better prepared and experience fewer delays.

• Supporting pathway clarity by giving people step by step guidance on symptoms, what to expect next, and how to navigate key stages of their cancer journey.

3) Designing care around people’s lives

Supporting the Plan’s commitment to truly person centred cancer care, the platform:

• Provides clear, accessible information that fits around patients’ home, work and family lives.

• Helps people and carers stay informed between appointments, supporting confidence and shared decision making.

4) Boosting NHS productivity and workforce capacity

To help the NHS meet rising demand and improve efficiency, MySunrise:

• Supports the NHS workforce with digital tools that save clinical time, improve communication, and strengthen personalised care.

• Reduces repeat queries and ensures consistent messaging, freeing clinical teams to focus on those who need more intensive support.

5) Sustaining innovation and research readiness

In line with the Plan’s commitment to modernising cancer services and adopting new technologies, MySunrise:

• Provides a scalable digital foundation that NHS organisations can build on, supporting innovation in pathways, remote support and future research driven models of care.

Now widely adopted across the UK and with proven benefits for both patients and providers, we are expanding MySunrise further to ensure that everyone, anywhere in the UK, can access free reliable, clear and compassionate digital support whilst going through Cancer treatment.

The UK wide version contains the same trusted core content used by the upgraded version for local cancer centres but, now configured for a national audience. It supports people at every stage of the cancer pathway—diagnosis, treatment, recovery and follow up—offering easy to understand information about chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, side effects and what to expect throughout care.

Available as both a mobile app and a web app, MySunrise can now be used on any digital device – smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops! It is completely free to use and supports up to 20 languages, including Urdu, Polish, Spanish and Welsh.

George Brighton, Managing Director of MySunrise, explains:
“We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to reach this point, and are very grateful for all the support we’ve had along the way. As the new NHS Cancer Plan sets out bold ambitions for how we significantly improve the way we treat and care for cancer patients we hope MySunrise can continue to play a meaningful role in helping people understand their care, feel more in control, and access local support when they need it most.”

This milestone reinforces MySunrise’s commitment to supporting the NHS in delivering consistent, high quality cancer information at scale — ensuring that location or language is never a barrier to clear, trusted and accessible support.

Cancer outcomes in the UK have lagged behind for too long, with poorer communities facing the greatest burden. The new National Cancer Plan commits to changing this over the next decade.

Our mission here at MySunrise is simple: to help close the gap, reduce inequalities —making trusted, accessible cancer information available to everyone, wherever they live, so more people are diagnosed earlier, supported better through treatment, and able to live well through and beyond cancer.
