MySunrise has been featured in a new case study published by MSD, highlighting the role of the MySunrise platform in supporting digital pre-assessment for people receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) across Devon and Cornwall.
The case study outlines how MySunrise was used as part of a collaborative project with the Peninsula Cancer Alliance to enable patients to complete treatment preparation at home. Through personalised digital content, including videos and checklists, patients were able to access trusted information online before taking part in a shorter, focused video consultation with their clinical team.
According to the case study findings, the digital pre-assessment approach delivered measurable benefits for both patients and NHS services. Patients avoided unnecessary hospital visits, with some saving around20 miles of travel per appointment, and reported feeling more prepared for treatment. For clinical teams, the service released valuable capacity, saving more than 160 hours of nursing time across Devon and Cornwall and reducing the need for lengthy in-person appointments — helping services manage increasing demand more sustainably.
The MSD case study recognises MySunrise as an example of effective digital innovation in cancer care, demonstrating how virtual pathways can improve patient experience and support more sustainable service delivery across the NHS.
